Creating And Updating Your Website

The Overview tab is the main place for creating and updating your website.

It brings together three things:

  • your public address
  • the button to create or manually update the website
  • a quick summary of recent website changes

You need to verify your email address before you can create the website.

You also need to choose your subdomain first. This becomes your website address in this format:

  • your-name.artlope.com

If your subdomain has already been set, Artlope shows it as the current website address.

Open the Setup tab or use the domain card on the Overview tab.

Enter the name you want before .artlope.com, then click Save subdomain.

Choose a name you would feel comfortable sharing on a card, in an email signature, or on social media. In most cases this is your artist name or a close variation of it.

Once the subdomain is in place, click Create website.

Artlope then creates the current public version of your website from the information you have already added in other parts of the app.

This includes content from:

After the website has already been created, the same area changes to Update website.

Use this whenever you want the public website to reflect newer changes.

This is useful after:

  • adding new artworks
  • changing artwork images or texts
  • publishing an exhibition
  • changing a category name or banner artwork
  • updating your profile text or contact details

You can turn on automatic website updates in the Setup tab.

Important:

  • the first website generation is always manual
  • automatic updates only start after your website already exists
  • Artlope waits until there have been no new website changes for 5 minutes before publishing

This is useful because many artists make several related edits in one session. Instead of publishing after every small change, Artlope waits for that editing activity to settle first.

Even when automatic updates are on, the manual update button stays available if you want to publish immediately.

After the website has been created, you can usually open it directly from the Website page.

Depending on your setup, you may also see a preview link. This helps you check the current generated version quickly.

The Changes card shows what changed since the last website update.

It can include changes to:

  • profile
  • artworks
  • exhibitions
  • categories

This makes it easier to decide when it is time to update the website again.
