This page answers the questions that come up most often.
If you are new to Artlope, this is a good place to get a quick sense of what it is for, what is included during beta, and where it fits into your practice.
Artlope for Artists

Section titled “Who is Artlope for?”Artlope is made for visual artists, especially if you are in an early or mid-career stage and managing things on your own.
It is a good fit if you are making artworks, showing them in exhibitions, and applying to open calls, grants, residencies, or similar opportunities.
It is built for artists who want structure without needing a gallery or a team to handle the admin side.
Which artists does Artlope work best for?
Section titled “Which artists does Artlope work best for?”Artlope works best for visual art practices such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and installation.
At the moment, artworks in Artlope are image-based. That means it works best when your practice can be documented well with images.
Which artists is Artlope not a good fit for?
Section titled “Which artists is Artlope not a good fit for?”Right now, Artlope is less suited to practices that depend mainly on sound, video, or motion.
It is also not the best fit yet if you work with a larger team or if most of your artworks are made collaboratively with others.
Beta and pricing

Section titled “What does Artlope cost?”During the beta, Artlope is free.
The plan is to keep it affordable after beta, around 5 USD or 5 EUR per month.
If you signed up during the beta, you will also get extra free time afterward, at least through all of 2026.
How long will the beta last?
Section titled “How long will the beta last?”That depends in part on what we learn from feedback, but the beta will last at least until fall 2026.
What happens after the beta?
Section titled “What happens after the beta?”After the beta, Artlope will become a paid service.
There may also be a free tier, but that is not decided yet.
If you joined during the beta, you will keep access for additional free months after the beta ends.
If you decide not to continue, you can export your files and data at any time.
Security and your data
Section titled “Security and your data”Is my data safe?
Section titled “Is my data safe?”Your account and data are stored with modern security practices, and regular backups are made.
To protect your account on your side as well, it is best to choose a strong password and enable two-factor authentication in Settings.
You can also export your files and data whenever you want.
What happens if I delete my account?
Section titled “What happens if I delete my account?”When you delete your account, your data is removed right away from the active system.
Backups may still exist for a limited time, but they are also deleted later.
If you want a copy of your records first, create a data export before deleting the account.
Using Artlope
Section titled “Using Artlope”How can I organize my works?
Section titled “How can I organize my works?”Artlope uses Categories to help you organize your artworks.
You can use categories like tags, series, projects, themes, or any other structure that fits your practice. One artwork can belong to as many categories as you need.
Categories can also include sub-categories, so you can build a structure that stays flexible without becoming messy.

Can I collaborate with others?
Section titled “Can I collaborate with others?”Collaboration is still limited for now.
At the moment, you can share an exhibition with someone else and manage that exhibition together.
More collaboration features may be added later if artists need them.
Website and customization
Section titled “Website and customization”Can I use my own domain for my website?
Section titled “Can I use my own domain for my website?”There is no self-serve setting for custom domains yet.
If you want to use your own domain, email [email protected] and we can help set it up with you.
How much can I customize my website?
Section titled “How much can I customize my website?”At the moment, customization is still fairly limited.
You can choose what content appears on the website, but the overall design is mostly fixed for now.
That will expand over time.

Comparing Artlope

Section titled “How does Artlope compare to Notion?”Notion is very flexible, but it gives you a blank system to build for yourself.
Artlope is for artists who want more guidance and less setup. Instead of designing your own structure for artworks, exhibitions, and submissions, you can start using it right away.
If you want full flexibility, Notion may suit you better. If you want something shaped around an art practice, Artlope is the simpler path.
How does Artlope compare to ArtGalleria?
Section titled “How does Artlope compare to ArtGalleria?”ArtGalleria covers some similar ground, but Artlope is focused fully on the needs of artists.
ArtGalleria also serves galleries and collectors. It is more established, but it starts at around 20 USD per month and includes limits on how many artworks you can manage.
How does Artlope compare to Artwork Archive?
Section titled “How does Artlope compare to Artwork Archive?”Artwork Archive is also well established and overlaps with Artlope in several ways.
Artlope stays more focused on artists themselves, while Artwork Archive also serves galleries and collectors.
Artwork Archive starts at around 9 USD per month, and the lower plans are quite limited in both artworks and features.
How does Artlope compare to Artlogic?
Section titled “How does Artlope compare to Artlogic?”Artlogic is a much larger and more established platform, but it is also priced for a very different market.
Artlope is focused on independent artists and aims to stay simple and affordable. Artlogic also includes tools for galleries and collectors, while Artlope stays centered on the artist’s own workflow. Artlogic starts at over 100 USD per month.
Feedback and support

Section titled “Will you add feature X?”Maybe. The beta is exactly the time when we learn what artists need most.
